No time for much of a post today. My interruptions seem to have interruptions of their own!
But I thought I'd share something from one of my Pinterest boards. We are all beginners at something at just about any given time and I found these words very encouraging to me. Maybe you will like them too.
Thank you so much, Amy - your encouraging words are Just What I Needed. I am learning to FMQ and the results I am getting now ARE discouraging. I do feel if I keep at it I will get better, but it's especially nice to hear this from someone like you. Very much appreciated!
ReplyDeleteLinda, just keep practicing! I am so glad you commented here, because I now see I need to fix some images, as well as I love hearing that I am encouraging to others. One of the pics said, "Don't compare your beginning to someone else's middle."
DeleteYes, I'm glad you did see that image needed to be fixed!
ReplyDeleteI went home last night and tried again. Still have a ways to go, but I was encouraged. I'm learning to listen to my machine and I like the comparison to FMQ and driving a car with a clutch.
I love your blog - am following now!
Amy, thank you for your words of wisdom. I too am at the same stage as the Linda above and was on the brink of giving up when I found this site. I am so relieved to know that I am not a complete incompetent and will now carry on practising until I can almost satisfy myself that my work is reasonably acceptable! Maybe I shouldn't have jumped in at the deep end with a King Size quilt??! Best wishes Lynda Lorenzo
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't be the first quilter who began with a hard or big project! Stick with it. Practice makes progress!
DeleteThat is oh SEW true!! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy, I'm so glade I found your blog. This has helped me extremely.
ReplyDeleteLike the others have commented, Thank you for words of inspiration. Just what I needed instead of giving up.
