Free Motion Quilting Video: Dahlia with Template

Here's the video of free motion quilting the Dahlia using the rotating template!

I will do a more thorough review of these rotating templates when I've had more time to work with all of them.

  2. I tried this earlier today & I couldn't get video to work. It said to try again in 30 min but hours later, still nothing.

  3. That system of templates is very interesting and I can see the many possibilities are endless! Will watch from the shadows, though, since I don't have a long arm. Beautiful motif!!!!

    1. I don't have a longarm either! But I don't let that stop me. I've got a Janome 6600, which does have a little more room than the average machine, but it's not one of the 'big dogs' either.

  4. Great demo Amy! Your work with the ruler was not fiddly at all. When I looked at the AT rulers when you first posted about them, I wasn't sure how I would handle them with the stationary center post. But seeing it here in action with the stops at the top of the arc, I get it and now have to go take a second look at them.

    Thanks for sharing!

  5. Fascinating! Is there anything grippy on the back side to help keep it from slipping when moving the quilt?

    1. I wasn't sure I could do much with these rulers at first, so I didn't want to stick anything to them. I will be giving these a dob of nail polish and salt soon. That's my favorite non-slip treatment. After using the Fine Line Rulers and their fabulous nonslip strip of hook side Velcro, I gave Velcro dots a thought, but have decided with the rotating of these templates, it would be too much.

  8. This is amazing!!!! These would be awesome to make simple white blocks with colored sashing and then go back in to quilt the dahlias in coordinating threads inside those white blocks. You suppose I could use this as an excuse to talk the hubs into getting a new machine?!? ha! Thanks so much for sharing!
