Design....Squirrel!

I was so excited just two weeks ago to start a new design process. Then the fabrics I ordered didn't match my computer screen or the images I had in my head. I stalled out completely after redrawing the design twice.

Then.....

Squirrel!   (Pop culture phrase for totally distracted by the next bright and shiny thing.See the movie "UP")

I've had theses fabrics for quite some time and all of a sudden an idea popped into my head and off I go. To top it all off, the project is for a whole different deadline and goal.

That's a nice finish (even though it's actually a start!) for my holiday that was pretty much cancelled by a case of walking pneunonia in my firstborn. (He's on the mend.)

    1. They are yummy. I’ve developed a thing for turquoise and these other colors look great together.
      Thanks so much!

    1. There are 2 prints, but the rest are batiks. I love how the colors all blend together.

  3. Can't wait to see what you design. :) I've had walking pneumonia before, it is miserable. Glad to hear he is doing a little better.

    1. Leanne,

You are in luck! I bought a yard of each of these fabrics and haven’t even cut into them so there’s selvedge.
Those two prints are from Hoffman fabrics, Bohemium Rhapsody. The first print you asked about is #H*741 and the next one (3rd from right) is style #H8740. I couldn’t tell you how old they are, probably at least 2-3 years old.

  8. Can't wait to see what your stall will produce!! I do love these colors! Have been a bit stalled myself, working on what I call "quickie quilts"--- gift quilts made according to someone else 's pattern. I always choose my own fabrics and do my own work so these quickies are not boring, but I am longing to get started on a qult of my own design that has been simmering in my brain for some time. If people would just stop having babies! :)

    1. I read recently somewhere that these stuck places happen between projects often. The important thing is to work through them and not give up. Looks like you've found a way to do that.

  9. Those fabrics are beautiful; all my favorite colors. I have moved away from so many brights but they are still what makes my heart sing, especially turquoise.
