Here's what I'm working on this weekend. I actually had hoped to make it and finish it in time to submit it to the Mid Atlantic Quilt Festival. But with all the sickness we've had here, I didn't finish drawing the design until yesterday.
Since the entry deadline is Tuesday, I don't see any way that it will be ready. In honor of my word of the year, Finish, I am working hard on it anyway. I marked the silk/cotton blend (Kauffman's Radiance) last night. I spray-basted it this morning after church and started quilting with YLI silk on top and Glide in the bobbin.
Pretty good progress, don't you think?
That's going to be gorgeous! Can't wait to see it finished!
ReplyDeleteAmy, I agree with QuiltLaughLove... absolutely gorgeous. I love Radiance... it dyes so beautifully too. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is my first try with it and it is lovely. Tricky and slick but it sure shows off the quilting. I've seen some beautiful custom dyed Radiance at the Charlotte AQS show, but I've never tried dying yet.
DeleteStunning quilting, Amy
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilting, as always!
ReplyDeletebeautiful!
ReplyDeleteDroolingly gorgeous! You are so talented!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! Glad you're finishing this no matter what. There are always more shows, etc., that you can enter it in down the road.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! You are very talented.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Amy! And yes, you are making good progress!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Amy! I've only used Radiance once, and I'm in love — wish my LQS stocked it, but I'm thinking this is something I'll simply have to order. Where will you enter your quilt, if you can't finish in time for MAQF?
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandy. I think I'm glad my local quilt shop doesn't carry it- I'd bring way too much of it home!
DeleteAs far as entering it into a show, I dunno. I could try an AQS show, Grand Rapids is the next deadline coming up or Chattenooga. I missed the Lancaster deadline already, which stinks since I'll actually be at that show.
Wherever you send it, I wish you the very best of luck! It's lovely! :)
DeleteThis is beautiful! Love the integrated birds and buggies!
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow! Really lovely!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful, Amy! I hope your family is feeling better. One of my kids just tested positive for flu and the rest of us started taking that Tamaflu stuff that is supposed to (hopefully!) prevent us from catching it. I sure hope it works, since I'm supposed to be singing a solo in church next Sunday. Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteI hope that Tamiflu works for you!
DeleteVery very lovely!!!!!!!! This will be a very special "finish"!!! Hugs................
ReplyDeleteThanks Doreen!
Delete#QuiltLove gorgeous. I look at it this way....you are so ahead of the game to enter this quilt in 2016! :) I look forward to seeing it when you finish, and hopefully exhibited in several quilt shows too!

Thanks SewCal.....whoops! QuiltShopGal....there's a good positive outlook. This quilt has been a good challenge for me.
DeleteAlready gorgeous - Enter it next year. Here's to your word for the year - finish!
ReplyDeleteI totally should have kept trying to finish it on time. After I decided it wasn’t going to make it, progress has slowed dramatically! But I am working on it still.
DeleteBeautiful work. Thank you for the great teaching.
